West Charlotte's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christian Coleman, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and four steals. Damani Day was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
West Charlotte struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Hough's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Evan Otto, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was John Slusher, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
West Charlotte has not been sharp recently as the team has lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. As for Hough, their win bumped their record up to 6-15.
West Charlotte will head out on the road to challenge Harding University at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Harding University is coming into the contest with three straight wins at home, so West Charlotte is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum. Hough will take on Mallard Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mallard Creek knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 contests -- so hopefully Hough likes a good challenge.
