Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, the Cypress Bay Lightning couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Wednesday and fell 53-52 to the Colts. Cypress Bay was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Coral Springs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Despite the loss, Cypress Bay still got an impressive performance from Peyton Looky, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Looky hasn't dropped below four steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Sofia Gonano, who scored 15 points along with three steals and two blocks.
Cypress Bay's defeat dropped their record down to 19-5. As for Coral Springs, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-6.
Cypress Bay does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Coral Springs is on the road again on Friday and plays Western at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th.
