The Wolfe County Wolves managed to keep up with the Rockcastle County Rockets until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Wolfe County's tough 69-45 defeat to Rockcastle County might stick with them for a while.
Despite the loss, Wolfe County saw an underclassman step up: Caleb Creech almost dropped a double-double on nine steals and nine blocks. It was the first time this season that Creech posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Camden Oliver, who scored 12 points.
Wolfe County's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Rockcastle County, their victory bumped their record up to 13-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wolfe County will square off against Powell County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Powell County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 464 points over their last six contests. As for Rockcastle County, they will head out on the road to take on Mercer County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Kentucky (Mercer County is ranked 85th, while Rockcastle County is ranked 91st).
