The Wyoming Area Warriors are taking a road trip to challenge the Wyoming Seminary College Prep Blue Knights at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Wyoming Area had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Tunkhannock on Wednesday. The Warriors blew past the Tigers 16-1. The Warriors' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Mitchell Rusinchak made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Rusinchak was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Jeremy Layland was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that he brought in this season. Robbie Yatsko was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Wyoming Area kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Wyoming Seminary College Prep made easy work of Holy Cross on Monday and carried off a 13-2 win. Considering the Blue Knights have won three matchups by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Wyoming Area, Wyoming Seminary College Prep also got a great game from a two-way player: Teddy Kraus. He tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. Kraus has become a key player for Wyoming Seminary College Prep: the team is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 1-2 otherwise. Kraus was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base.
In other batting news, Ryan Finlay and Shaun Behrens did most of the damage at the plate: Finlay scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Behrens went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two runs. Finlay has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Leo Nockley, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Wyoming Seminary College Prep is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Wyoming Area, the win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Wyoming Area has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Wyoming Seminary College Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Wyoming Area beat Wyoming Seminary College Prep 6-3 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
