They had to suffer through a rough 63-17 loss at the hands of Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City. Martinsville has struggled against Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City recently, as their match on Thursday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Macee Rodman led the charge by scoring 17 points. The matchup was Rodman's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ruby Stuckemeyer, who scored 13 points along with 3 blocks.
Martinsville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-3.
Martinsville won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Cerro Gordo/Bement at 6:00 p.m. on December 1st. Hopefully Cerro Gordo/Bement focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 last Tuesday. As for Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Shelbyville at 6:00 p.m. on December 4th.
