This season hasn't been kind to the DeLand-Weldon Eagles, who are still winless after their fifth matchup. They suffered a tough 65-42 defeat at the hands of Chrisman on Friday. The final score was a far cry from the score of their previous head-to-head, which saw the teams combine for zero points.
Chrisman found their leader in underclassman Gavin McCord, who scored 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Triston Lehmkuhl, who scored 12 points.
DeLand-Weldon's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Chrisman, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. DeLand-Weldon's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Lowpoint-Washburn at 5:30 p.m. on December 11th. Hopefully Lowpoint-Washburn focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday. Chrisman will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Salt Fork at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th.
