Golden has gone 9-1 against Green Mountain recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Demons will take on the Rams at 4:00 p.m. Golden is coming into the game hot, having won their last 12 games.
Golden's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They blew past Wheat Ridge 14-0. Considering the Demons have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Dylan Paulson was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Paulson was even better at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other pitching news, Austin Maleki looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Golden got a massive performance out of Jaydon Stroup, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most hits Stroup has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Luca Casali, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Golden was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .323 or higher in eight consecutive games.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Green Mountain ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They walked away with an 8-3 win over Pomona. The victory continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won six in a row.
Demetreus Padilla made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Padilla was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Corbin Wade, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Hudson Burke was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Golden's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Green Mountain, their record now sits at 12-7-1.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Golden hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .360. However, it's not like Green Mountain struggles in that department as they've averaged .329. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Golden was able to grind out a solid win over Green Mountain in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 12-9. Will the Demons repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
