The Aldine Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. Their tough 53-30 loss to MacArthur might stick with them for a while. Aldine was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-6.
Aldine's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Porsha Daniels, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds, and Melanie Umanzor who scored six points along with two steals and two blocks. Umanzor is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last 16 games she's played.
Aldine's defeat dropped their record down to 3-25. As for MacArthur, their victory bumped their record up to 9-19.
Aldine will head out on the road to take on Dekaney at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dekaney is on a seven-game streak of home losses, Aldine a 14-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. MacArthur will take on Nimitz at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Nimitz's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests.
