Flag Football Recap: Bowdon Piles Up the Points Against Mt. Zion

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bowdon). They blew past the Mt. Zion Eagles 40-0 on Wednesday. Given the Red Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia flag football rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Eagles are ranked 261st) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bowdon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off six passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Meg Robinson and Adalyn Chambers.

Bowdon is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.3 points on average over those games. As for Mt. Zion, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Coming up, Bowdon will square off against Heard County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mt. Zion, they will challenge Carrollton on Wednesday. The Trojans' defense has only allowed 11 points per game this season, so the Eagles' offense will have their work cut out for them.
