Griffin Phillips posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Tuesday. He struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits (and only one walk).

Even though Phillips couldn't lead East Hamilton over Bradley Central, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hurricanes haven't beaten the Bears recently, having gone 0-9 since April of 2021.
