The Knightdale Knights will head out on the road to square off against the Heritage Huskies at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Knightdale beat Rolesville 49-40. Given Knightdale's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while Rolesville is ranked 331st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Knightdale got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaiah Green out in front who scored six points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Green is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Khaim Taylor was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Heritage at home against Athens Drive on Wednesday as the team secured a 77-41 win. That looming 77-41 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Heritage yet this season.
Knightdale is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Heritage, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-8.
Knightdale couldn't quite finish off Heritage when the teams last played back in January and fell 53-50. Can Knightdale avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
