Berks Inter-County 1 recap November 13, 2013
Exeter Township scaled the state rankings by moving to 67 from 101 this week, the biggest jump in Berks Inter-County 1. The Eagles climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Central York 41-24.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Exeter Township beat the Panthers 41-24. The victory was the fourth in a row for Matt Bauer's team.
The Eagles' dynamic duo of Chase Yocum and Evan Lysczek proved tough for Central York to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Yocum threw for 212 yards and 2 touchdowns and Lysczek had 104 yards receiving. Derrick Jackson helped Exeter Township's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 56 yards.
He was 11-20 with 0 interceptions.
Pottsville's Tyler Moser and Travis Blankenhorn have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Moser has thrown for 1,445 yards this season, while Blankenhorn has 37 catches for 800 yards. Kyle Myers from Daniel Boone leads the league in rushing with 1,146 yards.
Alex Guilbe of the Conrad Weiser is only 53 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 144 carries Guilbe has accumulated 947 yard this year.
Muhlenberg took down Shippensburg 100-25 last week, the largest margin of any game.
