The New Castle Trojans''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They were dealt a 63-0 loss at the hands of New Palestine. While losing is never fun, New Castle can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 150th, while New Palestine is ranked 19th).
Tyson Lewis threw for 30 yards on four of 16 attempts.
New Palestine got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Grayson Thomas out in front who rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Thomas is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last nine games he's played. Kyler Kropp was in the mix too, providing New Palestine with two touchdowns.
New Castle's loss was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-9. As for New Palestine, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.
New Castle does not have any more games scheduled as of now. New Palestine will be playing in front of their home fans against Greenfield-Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Greenfield-Central will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
