After losing to the Windham Bombers the last time they met, the Champion Golden Flashes decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Champion managed a 59-54 win over Windham on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Champion.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Champion to victory, but perhaps none more so than Marky Nolan, who scored 21 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Ian Orwig, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.
The victory got Champion back to even at 4-4. As for Windham, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season.
Champion won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Lakeview at 7:00 p.m. on December 30th. Lakeview presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Champion in Ohio (Lakeview is ranked 313th, while Champion is ranked 722nd). As for Windham, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Waterloo at 7:00 p.m.
