The Milton Black Panthers will face off against the Mount Carmel RED TORNADOES at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Milton is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Midd-West: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Black Panthers blew the Mustangs out of the water with a 47-0 final score. The Black Panthers pushed the score to 40-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Mustangs had no chance of recovering from.
Montgomery Fisher was his usual excellent self, rushing for 225 yards and three scores while picking up 13.2 yards per carry, and also throwing for 71 yards and a pair of TDs. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 66 yards. JaCori Brown was another key player, gaining 144 total yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Mount Carmel waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 35-13 margin over the Wildcats. The RED TORNADOES' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Mount Carmel's win came from a few key players Milton will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jaylen Delaney, who rushed for 107 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries. Another rusher making a difference was Michael Kimsal, who rushed for 71 yards and one TD on only seven carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Mount Carmel was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 319 rushing yards. They are a perfect 4-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
Mount Carmel's defense made their presence known, laying out Kyle Everett three times. Christian Bibbus refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Jason Klokis was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making nine total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Milton picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 3-5. As for Mount Carmel, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Milton took a serious blow against Mount Carmel in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 55-26. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Black Panthers were down 48-12.
