Softball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Saint James' 16th in Last 17 Outings

While Saint James put up some runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Handley. The Trojans put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won 20 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Saint James got a great performance from Aleigha Davis as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. What's more, Davis posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Kaitlyn Hudson was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted over her last 12 contests. Ava Stanford was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Saint James always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Handley only posted an OBP of .133.

Saint James has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 41-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Handley, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-20-1.

Saint James didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-0 win against Tallassee on the 19th. As for Handley, they will head out to face off against Ranburne at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
