Wes-Del is 2-7 against Tri since September of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Warriors will square off against the Titans at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Tri will be up against a hot Wes-Del team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Warriors blew past Cambridge City Lincoln, posting a 70-8 win. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by 22 points or more this season.
Wes-Del didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Eli Wright, Zach Gillam, and Owen Long picked up one apiece. Wright got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Tri got themselves on the board against Union County on Friday, but Union County never followed suit. They blew past the Patriots 63-0. The victory continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won seven in a row.
Wes-Del better keep an eye on Isaiah Dewitt. He was instrumental in Tri's win, rushing for 77 yards and three scores. Dewitt got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 58 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Zavier Hanson, who gained 67 total yards and two touchdowns.
Tri was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 251 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 187 rushing yards in 15 consecutive contests dating back to last season.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Tri's defense and their four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. Cooper Engle got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Tri now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Wes-Del, their record now sits at 5-3.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Wes-Del has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 340.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Tri struggles in that department as they've been averaging 304.7 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Wes-Del was taken down by Tri 55-0 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Titans' Masyn Chalfant, who rushed for 151 yards and four TDs on only 11 carries, and also picked up 59 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
