Central Dauphin extended the longest winning streak in Mid-Penn - Commonwealth this week by beating Harrisburg, 24-21. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Rams.
Central Dauphin and the Cougars played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Central Dauphin eventually emerging with a 24-21 victory. Drew Scales ran for 148 yards and caught one passes for 14 yards in the win.
Cumberland Valley's dynamic duo of Ben Fernback and Jeremy Salmon proved tough for Mifflin County to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Fernback threw for 121 yards and one touchdown and Salmon had 69 yards receiving. Tyler Hartzel helped Cumberland Valley's passing attack out by catching two balls for 43 yards.
6-foot-3 quarterback pat irwin of State College is the league leader in passing yards this season with 936. He has also thrown nine touchdowns. On the ground, Glen McNamee's team's Scales has rushed for 694 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Jordan Bowman. The Central Dauphin star has 19 catches for 299 yards.
The top two teams in Mid-Penn - Commonwealth will face off this week when first place Cumberland Valley takes on second place Central Dauphin. Last week, the Eagles defeated the Huskies, while the Rams topped Harrisburg.
There should be lots of points scored when Cumberland Valley and Central Dauphin face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Tim Rimpfel's team comes in having scored 247 this season, while the Rams have scored 253. The Eagles scored 35 points last week as they topped Mifflin County.
Chambersburg took down Carlisle 49-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
