Calhoun Academy took down Thomas Sumter Academy on Wednesday, a win that might not have happened without Layla Walker's performance. Walker posted 16 points, good enough to set a new career-high in points in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: she has now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

Walker's strong effort led Calhoun Academy over Thomas Sumter Academy and she'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Calhoun Academy has some work to do to even out the 2-7 series between these two since February of 2018, but a win here would be a good start.
