Beechcroft has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. The Beechcroft Cougars and the Mifflin Punchers will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Beechcroft has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Even though East scored an imposing 76 points on Tuesday, Beechcroft still came out on top. Beechcroft slipped by East 77-76.
Mifflin suffered their biggest loss since December 15, 2023 on Tuesday. They were beaten by Northland 74-44. While losing is never fun, Mifflin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 546th, while Northland is ranked 173rd).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was John Glover, who scored 21 points. He hasn't dropped below 15points for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Mike Woodyard, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Beechcroft's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Mifflin, they have fallen quite a ways from their 16-7 record last season and are now at 5-9.
Beechcroft strolled past Mifflin when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 84-65. Will Beechcroft repeat their success, or does Mifflin have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
