Meanwhile, Covina entered their tilt with Diamond Bar on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They strolled past the Brahmas with points to spare, taking the game 49-32.
Covina's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gatsbee Gumban led the charge by rushing for 271 yards and a touchdown while picking up 10.4 yards per carry, and also picking up 41 receiving yards and a touchdown. Gumban's longest rush was for an incredible 86 yards. Another signal caller making a difference was Jacob Duronslet, who threw for 246 yards and five touchdowns while completing 77.3% of his passes.
Walnut's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Covina, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
