A big part of Oak Grove's victory came down to the chemistry between Grayson Treadway and his top target Amir Dalton. Treadway threw for 98 yards and three touchdowns on perfect 6-for-6 passing while Dalton rushed for 92 yards and one score. What's more, Treadway racked up 177.1 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024.
Oak Grove didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Atkins to a completion percentage of just 47.8%. The team can thank Rakwon Fleming for the heroic effort on defense: he. Oak Grove has been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.63 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.63 in their last three games.
Oak Grove didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Jyden Barnes, Lathan Pruitt, and Bradley Byrd picked up one apiece. Pruitt got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Mount Tabor waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took their game with ease, bagging a 47-6 win over the Vikings. That looming 47-6 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Spartans yet this season.
Mount Tabor's win came from a few key players Oak Grove will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kingston Brown, who threw for 212 yards and one TD on only 18 passes, and also punched in a pair of scores on the ground. Another player making a difference was Jayden Muhfooth Smith, who gained 129 total yards and a touchdown.
Mount Tabor's defense made their presence known, laying out Cyncere Goff three times. Taryton Thacker was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself. He has been hot, having posted at least one sack the last five times he's played.
Oak Grove now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Mount Tabor, their record is now 3-4.
