The Cross Roads Bobcats''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Axtell 46-0. Cross Roads has struggled against Axtell recently, as their match on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Axtell was led to victory by Levi Leathers and Tyson Michel. Leathers threw for 112 yards and two touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes, while Michel rushed for 195 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 12.2 yards per carry. Leathers was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards.
Cross Roads' loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Axtell, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cross Roads will take on Kerens at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kerens is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Axtell, they will be playing at home against Itasca at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Itasca is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
