They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Midland Adventist Academy 82-12 at home. That 82-12 margin sets a new team best for Kansas City East Christian Academy this season.
It was another big night for Kevin Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 12 rebounds. The contest was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Maddox Carrillo was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten steals.
Kansas City East Christian Academy pushed their record up to 9-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.8 points per game. As for Midland Adventist Academy, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kansas City East Christian Academy will challenge Wyandotte at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Wyandotte and Kansas City East Christian Academy are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads. Midland Adventist Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Kansas City East Christian Academy at 8:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
