The Treasure Coast Titans will head out on the road to take on the Vero Beach Indians at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Treasure Coast took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They never let Lincoln Park Academy get on the board and left with a 14-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Greyhounds: they've now won nine in a row.
Callie Smith was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Valerie Leon was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Treasure Coast was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Vero Beach had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by an 18-0 margin over the Saints.
Lathan Willis made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Willis was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three runs and one RBI.
