The Elm Creek Buffaloes waltzed into their game Saturday with three straight wins but they left with four. They blew past Wilcox-Hildreth 60-28 on the road. That looming 60-28 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Elm Creek yet this season.
Elm Creek found their leader in underclassman Quin Oberg, who scored 17 points. The matchup was Oberg's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kade Sindt, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Elm Creek has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Wilcox-Hildreth, their loss was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elm Creek and Axtell will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 11th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Axtell will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Wilcox-Hildreth, they will head out on the road to face off against Loomis at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
