Alameda is 0-6 against Fort Morgan since March of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Pirates will challenge the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. Alameda is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
On Wednesday, Alameda made easy work of Platte Canyon and carried off a 24-1 victory. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by eight runs or more this season.
Cesar H made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

Meanwhile, Fort Morgan entered their match against Roosevelt on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Mustangs lost 15-4 to the Roughriders.
Fort Morgan saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Samson Ortega, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI. Riley Elrick was another, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Alameda's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Fort Morgan, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
Both Alameda and Fort Morgan just can't seem to miss. The Pirates have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.1 hits per game. However, it's not like Fort Morgan struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Alameda suffered a grim 27-3 defeat to Fort Morgan in their previous meeting back in April of 2018. Can the Pirates avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
