Adding to the longest winning streak in I Section I this week, Chandler beat Skyline 55-16. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Chandler took down the Coyotes 55-16 last week, the largest margin of any game. Bryce Perkins threw for 240 yards and 3 touchdowns and ran for 50 yards in the win.
Basha's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Zach Werlinger threw for 467 and 3 touchdowns and Rajhan Meriwether had 125 yards receiving. On the ground Meriwether chipped in 168 yards. Doc O'Connor helped Basha's passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 127 yards.
He was 27-41 with 3 interceptions.
Werlinger put up the best numbers in passing as the Bears bested Horizon. Werlinger's favorite target this week was Meriwether, who caught 5 passes for 125 yards.
Basha's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bears feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Werlinger has thrown for 3,119 yards and 25 touchdowns this season, while O'Connor has 59 catches for 1,103 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Basha and Shawn Aguano's team. Bernie Busken's team comes into the matchup ranked 15th in the state, while the Wolves ranks third.
Going into this week's contest against the Bears, Chandler's Perkins needs 17 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season. Accruing a total of 22 touchdowns this year, Perkins has thrown for 1,983 yards with 6 interceptions.
There should be lots of points scored when Basha and the Wolves face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Bears comes in having scored 370 this season, while Chandler has scored 465. Basha scored 43 points last week as it beat the Huskies.
The Bears and Horizon played the closest game in the league this week, with the Bears eventually emerging with a 43-42 victory. Werlinger ran for 79 yards during the win.
