The Bourgade Catholic Golden Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Scottsdale Christian Academy Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bourgade Catholic will be strutting in after a win while Scottsdale Christian Academy will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Thursday, Bourgade Catholic didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Camp Verde, but they still walked away with a 46-41 victory. The win was just what Bourgade Catholic needed coming off of a 53-18 defeat in their prior game.
Juliet Botiller continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 28 points along with nine rebounds and six steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Bourgade Catholic's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyra Williams, who scored five points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Scottsdale Christian Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 58-28 loss at the hands of Valley Christian. While losing is never fun, Scottsdale Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while Valley Christian is ranked 35th).
Bourgade Catholic's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Scottsdale Christian Academy, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.
Bourgade Catholic didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Scottsdale Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 41-35 victory.
