On Friday, the Musselman Applemen faced the Spring Mills Cardinals in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Musselman was dealt a 98-27 defeat at the hands of Spring Mills. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Musselman has scored all season.
Musselman's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Logan Shelton, who scored nine points along with two steals, and Wade Bartles who scored three points.
Musselman are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-4. As for Spring Mills, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Musselman will be playing at home against University at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. University will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps West Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 313th, while Musselman is ranked 19th). As for Spring Mills, they will head out on the road to challenge Frederick at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Frederick is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
