The Mead Mavericks will head out to take on the Centaurus Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Mead has seven straight wins, Centaurus has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Saturday, Mead got the win against Loveland by a conclusive 12-2. The Mavericks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by eight runs or more this season.
Gianna Pacotti looked comfortable as she tossed 2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Ainsley Lehman was excellent, going 3-for-4 while logging 4 stolen bases, 3 runs, and 1 double. She has also been pretty much perfect as far as strikeouts are concerned: she hasn't struck out any for nine straight games. Another player making a difference was Kinley Bussard, who went 3-for-4 while logging 3 runs, 2 RBIs, and 1 double.
Mead took advantage of their speed and finished the game with eight stolen bases. That's the best they've done in that category since at least August 22, 2025.
Meanwhile, Fairview hit Centaurus with a seven-run fourth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Warriors lost 17-9 to the Knights.
Emery Fannin was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 while posting 2 RBIs, 2 runs, and 1 walk. The four hits were her most since at least August 21st last year, when she had four vs. Fairview.
The victory improved Mead's record to 10-2. As for Centaurus, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
