The Geneva Eagles will be home for the holidays to greet the Crestwood Red Devils at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Geneva fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Madison on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Blue Streaks 82-76. Geneva has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Crestwood put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Grand Valley by a score of 68-59. Crestwood's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Crestwood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brody Durham, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten assists. That's the first time this season that Durham posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Charlie Schweickert, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Geneva's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Crestwood, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
