If the Monta Vista Matadors were riding high off their 3-0 takedown of the Saratoga Falcons last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Monta Vista fell just short of Lynbrook by a score of 2-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Monta Vista of the 4-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Their goal came courtesy of
Royce Tse, who's now up to 14 this season.
Monta Vista now has a losing record at 7-8-3. As for Lynbrook, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-9-3.
Monta Vista will take on Homestead at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Homestead's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for seven straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. As for Lynbrook, they will head out on the road to challenge Milpitas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lynbrook's last six matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
