Volleyball Recap: Ashlynne Arney Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Columbus Christian Academy

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rossville Christian Academy, Winston Academy was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They blew past the Columbus Christian Academy rams 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 last Saturday.

Winston Academy was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-17, 25-17.

Winston Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ashlynne Arney out in front who had 11 assists and four aces. Those four aces gave Arney a new career-high.

Winston Academy's victory bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Columbus Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Winston Academy will square off against Regents at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Columbus Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Smithville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
