The Carver Yellowjackets had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 67-59 victory over Cornerstone Charter on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Carver's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jonathan Gakeri, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds. Those 13 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Jaqarius Houston was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds and four steals.
When it comes to explaining why Cornerstone Charter lost, one person who can't be blamed is D'Trevion Harris. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds. Harris scored a full 40.7% of Cornerstone Charter's points, the tenth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
