While Orlando Christian Prep's win against Merritt Island Christian wasn't quite the blowout they won the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Orlando Christian Prep came out on top in a nail-biter against Merritt Island Christian on Friday, sneaking past 5-3. Winning may never get old, but the Warriors sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

The team relied heavily on Brayden Schuster, who scored a run and stole four bases while going 1-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Jorge Martinez, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Circle Christian didn't have quite enough to beat Lake Mary Prep on Thursday and fell 6-5. The Centurions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Jon Waldrop put in work no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only three hits, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those RBI were his first of the season.
In other batting news, DJ Williams was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.
Orlando Christian Prep's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Circle Christian, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Orlando Christian Prep has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .479. However, it's not like Circle Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .449. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
