After a string of five wins, the O'Neill Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell to Wagner 63-57. O'Neill was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Wagner apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, O'Neill still got an impressive performance from Drew Morrow, who scored 19 points along with seven steals. Morrow has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Trevor Alder, who scored ten points along with five steals.
O'Neill bumped their record down to 7-5 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Wagner, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. O'Neill will challenge Guardian Angels Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Wagner, they will head out on the road to face off against Burke at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Burke is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
