The Chariho Chargers will head out on the road to take on the Moses Brown Quakers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Chariho has five straight victories, Moses Brown has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Chariho's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against Stonington as they made off with a 14-0 win. Considering the Chargers have won 12 games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Anna Tretton and Alana Valuk did most of the damage at the plate: Tretton went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run, while Valuk went 3-for-5 with three RBI and one run. Those three hits gave Valuk a new career-high. Erin O'Leary also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Chariho kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Moses Brown faced East Providence in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Quakers fell just short of the Townies by a score of 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Quakers have suffered since May 18, 2024.
Ava Lourenco was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Abby DeWolf, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs.
Chariho pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Moses Brown, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.
Moses Brown's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Chariho has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Moses Brown, though, as they've been averaging 9.5 hits. Given Chariho's sizable advantage in that area, the Quakers will need to find a way to close that gap.
