Merryville had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Oberlin Tigers on Tuesday, sneaking past 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since February 10th.

Merryville's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Stellan S. Mirante, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one double.

Merryville's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 8-6. As for Oberlin, they dropped their record down to 3-13 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Merryville will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
