The Frankfort Hot Dogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their ninth straight loss. Their rough 38-17 defeat to Logansport might stick with them for a while. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Frankfort has suffered since December 18, 2023.
Frankfort's loss came despite strong showings from Saira Flores and Vannessa Guardado. Flores scored five points along with ten rebounds and two steals, while Guardado scored two points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Flores has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Frankfort struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Logansport pulled down 12 offensive rebounds.
Leading Logansport to victory were Kellyn Cripe and Lydia Goad. Cripe scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Goad scored 17 points. Goad hasn't dropped below 15 points for four straight games. Rylinn Spradling was another key contributor, scoring four points along with seven rebounds.
Frankfort's defeat was their 20th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-21. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.9 points per game. As for Logansport, their win bumped their record up to 4-17.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Frankfort will take on Crawfordsville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Crawfordsville comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Logansport, they will head out on the road to take on Twin Lakes on Saturday. Hopefully Twin Lakes focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Friday.
