The Owego Free Academy River Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 24 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 53-23 win over Onondaga on the road. Winning may never get old, but Owego Free Academy sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Owego Free Academy's win on Thursday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Madison Mcevoy, who scored 15 points along with five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Mcevoy has scored at least 25% of Owego Free Academy's points. Ava Brown was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Owego Free Academy pushed their record up to 6-2 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points per game. As for Onondaga, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-1.
Owego Free Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Watkins Glen at 1:00 p.m. on December 29th. Onondaga will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pulaski at 6:00 p.m. on January 8, 2024.
