The Winside Wildcats can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They took down Homer 51-32. That 19 point margin sets a new team best for Winside this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Winside to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaden Hunt, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Schutt, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Winside's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Homer, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.
Winside will be playing in front of their home fans against Stanton on Tuesday. Stanton is coming into the matchup with eight straight losses on the road, meaning Winside will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Homer, they will square off against Hartington-Newcastle at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hartington-Newcastle will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Homer surely won't give up without a fight.
