Football Recap: Bayshore Piles Up the Points Against IMG Academy State

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bayshore). They claimed a resounding 57-7 victory over the IMG Academy State Ascenders. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 51-0.

It was another big night for Jaydis Wiley, who threw for 257 yards and five touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushed for 34 yards and a pair of scores. Bayshore's leading receiver Camdon Stancil was Wiley's top target yet again, picking up 81 receiving yards and two TDs.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Bayshore, adding 13 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Jayden Gibson, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

The win (which was Bayshore's third in a row) raised their record to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.7 points over those games. As for IMG Academy State, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, Bayshore will take on Booker at 7:30 p.m. on the 26th. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 937 yards in their previous games. As for IMG Academy State, they will square off against Out-of-Door Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Thunder's defense has only allowed 8.5 points per game this season, so the Ascenders' offense will have their work cut out for them.
