The McCallie Blue Tornado had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Chattanooga Christian by a score of 67-59 on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Kenneth Chime was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 23 rebounds. Bryce Kennebrew was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
McCallie's win bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Chattanooga Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McCallie's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Fighting Irish at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Tennessee (Knoxville Catholic is ranked 52nd, while the Blue Tornado are ranked 40th). As for Chattanooga Christian, they will be playing at home against the Hawks on Tuesday. One thing working in Hamilton Heights Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six games.
