The Council Grove Braves won the last time they faced the Eureka Tornadoes, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Council Grove really took it to Eureka for the full four quarters, racking up a 60-33 win on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-12.
Council Grove got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brycen Palmquist out in front who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Palmquist hasn't dropped below 15 points for five straight games. Kyzer Spittles was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds.
Council Grove has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season. As for Eureka, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Council Grove will square off against Halstead at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Eureka, they will head out on the road to square off against Bluestem on Friday. Eureka is coming into the matchup with three straight defeats on the road, meaning Bluestem will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
