After flying high against New Covenant on Monday, the North Cross Raiders came back down to earth. North Cross was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 44-38 to the Covenant Eagles. That's the fewest points the Raiders have scored all year.
The loss dropped North Cross' record to 15-7. The victory bumped Covenant's record up to 15-5.
North Cross is on the road again on Saturday and plays against Eastern Mennonite. North Cross won't have the home-court advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings. As for Covenant, they will go up against Fishburne Military on Thursday. Coming off of a win even when the odds were against them, Covenant has to be feeling especially confident with the MaxPreps rankings on their side for this one.
