The Red Mesa Redskins's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 60-40 loss at the hands of Basis. Red Mesa has not had much luck with Basis recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
It was another big night for Jack Engelthaler, who dropped a double-double on 36 points and 14 rebounds for Basis. Engelthaler has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times he's played. Another player making a difference was McLane Baillie, who scored ten points along with seven steals.
Red Mesa has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. As for Basis, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Red Mesa will face off against Monument Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Monument Valley presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Red Mesa in their respective states (Monument Valley is ranked 137th in Utah, while Red Mesa is ranked 326th in Arizona). As for Basis, they will head out on the road to square off against St. Michael at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
