The Seagoville Dragons will head out on the road to face off against the Adams Cougars at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Seagoville will be strutting in after a win while Adams will be coming in after a defeat.
Seagoville posted their biggest win since December 12, 2023 on Tuesday. They put the hurt on West Mesquite with a sharp 43-23 victory.
Meanwhile, Adams' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 74-32 loss at the hands of Poteet. While losing is never fun, Adams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1438th, while Poteet is ranked 439th).
Despite their loss, Adams saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Avery Scott, who scored 14 points, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Scott has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Elizabeth Marquez, who scored ten points.
Seagoville is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season. As for Adams, they dropped their record down to 3-14 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Seagoville against Adams in their previous matchup on January 2nd as the team secured a 60-20 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Seagoville since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
