The Tumwater Thunderbirds pushed their score all the way to 56 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Ridgefield by a score of 59-56. Tumwater was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Ridgefield apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Despite the loss, Tumwater still got an impressive performance from Clay Morgan, who scored 29 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Morgan has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Morgan, who scored 13 points.
Tumwater's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-8. As for Ridgefield, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tumwater will face off against Hockinson at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Hockinson's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four games. As for Ridgefield, they will head out on the road to face off against Mark Morris at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Mark Morris knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 games -- so hopefully Ridgefield likes a good challenge.
