Basketball Recap: Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning Takes a Loss

Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Forest Lake Christian Falcons 63-28. The Fire Wolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Brendan Hooper continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Forest Lake Christian, dropping a triple-double on 23 points, ten assists, and 12 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Hooper has scored at least a third of Forest Lake Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Stosen, who went 7 of 11 en route to 15 points and three steals.

Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Forest Lake Christian, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-9.

Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning will host John Adams Academy Rsvl/Lin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Forest Lake Christian, they are taking a road trip to take on Sacramento Waldorf at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Sacramento Waldorf's favor as the team sits on nine straight wins at home while Forest Lake Christian has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
